Sat - June 29, '18 (Note 1) Way up in the mountains average a mile high all day. making slow progress along. 14 hours late mostly desolate country and are in Wyo. most of the day. Wrote to Berniece Saw a saloon today and also a drunk man. looked quite funny. towns are many miles apart 105 miles in one case. woke up at Hanna Wyo. at midnight where we were given cigarettes and treated quite lavishly. |
Sun - June 30, '18 woke up at Cheyenne at 5 o'clock where we stayed until 7 o'clock. passed into Nebraska at 9 o'clock and took exercise and stood muster roll at Sidney Nebr. Very pretty country. mostly level some low hills. altitude about 2200 ft. awfully hot. got to North Platte at 4 oclock change time to 5 oclock treated fine there. took exercises again ate supper on leaving there. got to Lexington at 6:30. nice place too.... |
